Artist Statement
“Painting is an extension of who I am- a collection of my past experiences and my future dreams. I favor a ‘painterly’ approach in my work, in which a recognizable form is achieved, yet at the same time the paint itself is celebrated and brushstrokes are visible and an integral part to the success of the piece. I am inspired by simple everyday interaction of animals in their environment, a landscape at dawn or dancers at rest. I love the way light dances across the form, the harmony of color relationships, and the shapes of light and shadow. I feel that I am both lucky and blessed to be able to express myself thru paint and I take my art seriously. I love to paint.”
